I rented this venue for a baby shower and it was a smooth and easy process. Our event went well without any issues with the venue. I will consider renting this venue again in the future and recommending it to others.
I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was so upsetting that I feel I need to warn others. From the very beginning, I felt completely unsupported and alone during my event. I tried contacting Jeff multiple times for help with basic issues, and he was nowhere to be found. It’s incredibly stressful hosting an event and not being able to reach the person responsible for the venue. What hurt the most was what happened afterward. When I finished my event, no one came to do an inspection, no concerns were raised, and I left believing everything was fine. Days later, out of nowhere, they withheld my entire deposit and sent photos 11 days after my rental — with no timestamps, no confirmation, and no proof they were even from the day of my event. The uncertainty and lack of transparency felt deeply unfair. I reached out trying to sort things out respectfully and reasonably. Instead, I was met with empty apologies and no real evidence. It was emotionally exhausting to keep asking for clarity and getting nowhere. I also followed their policy that clearly states the $500 deposit is fully refundable with 48 hours yet they still kept it. Feeling like you held up your end of the agreement only to be ignored and dismissed is incredibly discouraging. This experience left me stressed, disappointed, and honestly heartbroken that something meant to be a happy occasion ended in frustration. I would strongly urge anyone considering this venue to protect themselves, document absolutely everything, and be prepared for very limited support. I cannot recommend this venue based on how this was handled.
I can’t say enough good things about this venue! The space was absolutely beautiful — open, elegant, and perfectly set up for our event. There was plenty of room for everyone to mingle, dance, and relax without ever feeling crowded. The staff were incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. It’s rare to find a place that strikes the perfect balance between atmosphere and functionality, but this venue nailed it. Every detail — from the lighting to the layout — made the night unforgettable. If you’re looking for the perfect spot to host a party or celebration, this is it!
Making a deal with this gentleman was the worst decision we ever made, and if you can, please look for a more reliable place to host your parties. I found this venue for my baby shower and visited it twice. During one visit, we left a deposit in case of any damages, even though we had already paid for the rental of the space. The atmosphere seemed pleasant, and the person in charge, Jeff, was polite and showed us around the venue. However, on the day of my baby shower, we faced a major issue. The place was supposed to be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. We arrived at 9:10 a.m., only to discover that Jeff had not release our door code access to open the door. My guests were scheduled to arrive at 11 a.m., and we were unable to get into the venue until noon when he finally answered the phone. My husband and I called multiple times, but there was no response. This experience caused unnecessary stress for me during my pregnancy and ultimately ruined my baby shower. I spent the entire day before, despite being pregnant, organizing all the final details. To experience such frustration on the day of my event—a day I had eagerly anticipated for my first child—was heartbreaking. Since we couldn't access the venue or reach Jeff, we returned home. It was only when my husband called from his aunt's cellphone that Jeff finally answered, citing that he had simply forgotten to release the code on the door to open. This excuse felt insincere and gave me the impression that he is a bad character, a fraudster, and only cared about the money. Eventually, we were able to return to the venue with all my hungry guests, who had traveled from far away. With everyone’s help, we hastily set everything up to make the most of the day. Although the owner did allow us to stay past 5 p.m., that didn’t erase the frustration of the day or the terrible memory it left for my family and me. This incident occurred on May 25th, and I am still awaiting the refund of the deposit we left as a guarantee. Despite his poor treatment of us, we left the venue as clean as we found it. I had to take some time before sharing this experience, as it truly affected me during a delicate time in my pregnancy. If you're considering renting this venue for your events, I strongly advise you to seek a more dependable place that won't turn a special occasion into a complete disaster.
York Studios is a quaint, very clean, and polished event space perfect for intimate events and parties. The staff are friendly, understanding, and professional, willing to go above and beyond to provide services and answer all inquiries. With the advice of our co-ordinator, we were able to put together our babyshower in a very short amount of time, with good feedback from our guests. Over all; a very good expirence.
Of all the places I looked at, this was the one that seemed ideal on all levels. With Jeff's help, we prepared the perfect Sweet Sixteen party for my daughter (she only found out on the day I gave her the invitations to give to her friends), and it was without a doubt the perfect party with the perfect decoration. Without a doubt, if I have an event again, it will be there! There is no greater joy than seeing a daughter happy and excited, that's what happened when my daughter walked in there. ? Amazing event space for any kind of party or function. I held my daughter’s nineteenth birthday party here and everything was perfect. Jeff was a delight to work with and had great communication every step of the way. Highly recommend.
