Called the Pro Shop and asked for two people to play 9 holes this afternoon and they booked me in for 2:30pm. Got to the course and was told there is no 9 hole rate at this time and I would have to pay for 18. The manger was very rude and took no responsibility for what happened. Handled the situation very unprofessionally
Ahhh Scarlett Woods. My local home course, lots of nostalgia and very friendly cart staff this year. Unfortunately, this is about where the positives end for Scarlett Woods in 2025; this is a borderline abomination that this course is technically apart of the Ontario Golfing Community. To start, the image here was very unfortunate. They had some scumbag trespass and ride their dirt bike across virtually 1/4th of the course. One hole was unplayable. 5 greens looked like the attached image, which was very unfortunate. When I asked the cart girl when this happened, she wasn’t sure…this surprised me, and is a representation of the maintenance (or lack thereof) this embarrassing excuse of management has done this year to the course. The fact they had the audacity to still charge full price is embarrassing. On top of this, they’re absolutely arrogant to pace of play with other golfers. I haven’t seen a Marshall all year golfing a half dozen times. This creates a poor experience and also a potentially safety concern as it causes other golfers to be more irate and have more erratic behaviour (eg. Hitting into the group in front and almost hitting them, which has happened to us twice so far this year). I give two stars because the staff is kind. The nostalgia is great for being my local course but that’s where it ends. Management: do better, this is embarrassing. This is better suited as housing at this point for our housing crisis if you are going to continue to insult the land and legacy of Scarlett Woods. And to the City of Toronto, stop turning a blind eye to this and do your job. You are also accountable for letting this mess happen. I hope to return soon Scarlett Woods, but not until the above concerns get addressed and management shapes up (or new management takes over). I can only pray.
What happened to this place? How can they care so little for a half decent course? Saturday and not a single marshal, no cart person, NOTHING. I waited at least 10 minutes to tee off at every single hole because they were so backed up. Go figure with no marshal. Staff was just a bunch of kids. No manager available, no one that looks like they even understand what’s going on. Tee boxes are butched and filled with rocks. The push carts are probably 30 years old, falling to pieces and they charge you to use them LOOOL?! Guys, you really need to get a grip this is embarrassing.
Fun course to play with greens largely in good shape. Could use more rounds from the cart drinks service, but overall a great experience. I’ll definitely be back!
This course is meant to be for beginner golfers, not beginner management. Starter on Saturday morning was grumpy, disrespectful, and power tripping. Not unusual at this course. Course was running 20 min behind schedule, and played over 4 hours on a short Par 61. No marshal managing pace of play. Course conditions are poor with chewed up tee boxes and neglected grounds. This course has gone downhill and the new management needs to dedicate time to improving it.
Terrible experience; management was rude and un-accommodating. No respect for any of the customers. Very strict. Felt like I was living under a communist government rule, being watched the whole time. Poorly managed grounds. Don’t waste your money here, way better courses out there. Never coming here again.
