Called about a problem with my muffler, was told to come in (first come first serve service) dropped my car in for service with only one car ahead of me, was sorted in less than an hour. Fast, friendly, and affordable service, far less than quote from other mechanics.
When I called the first time it was confirmed that I could come in for an appointment at 8am on a Monday. It was NOT explained that it was first come first served. I was there at 7:50am. There were already 4 or 4 people ahead of me sitting in the lobby and I knew the work I needed done was going to take at least two hours once it was actually on the hoist. Which I also spoke with the receptionist about. The car was ready at noon and cost about $200 more than a quote from Ok Tire and Canadian Tire. I asked what the labour cost was and was told it “depended on the job”. I’ve been using the vehicle for a couple days, I’ll report back if there are any issues. So be warned, they don’t make appointments, it’s first come first served and it’s expensive.
Some time ago, I noticed a strange issue with my Audi Q7. While driving slowly in city traffic, the car started to vibrate strongly. It mostly happened when the engine was around 1000 RPM. I took the car to an Audi dealership. They told me this was a known issue and even had a technical service bulletin about it. The problem was with the front exhaust pipes (since it’s a V6 engine, there are two pipes), and the official solution was to replace both pipes completely. But since my warranty had expired, the cost was very high. Then I visited a few independent exhaust shops. Some of them asked for over $1000, others said, “If it works, don’t touch it.” No one offered a clear solution. Later, while researching online, I found that Audi actually offered a cheaper fix in the same service bulletin. Before replacing the pipes, they suggested: Replacing small exhaust brackets, and loosening all exhaust bolts, then re-tightening them properly. So I went to other exhaust shops with this information and even showed them the bulletin. I told them I just wanted to try this first. If the vibration continued, I wouldn’t complain — I just wanted to try the cheaper fix first. But unfortunately, even after explaining everything clearly, most shops didn’t want to touch it. They said: “Take it to the dealership, we don’t want to be responsible.” Today, I stopped by Minute Muffler Frido, as I do from time to time when I saw a big muffler service, and explained the issue — just wanted to try my luck. They said, “Sounds like an interesting problem, let’s take a look.” They put the car on the lift, inspected everything, and agreed with my concerns. They told me, “Give us about 30 minutes, we’ll check it out and try to help you.” And in the end, the problem was solved in just half an hour. Good workmanship and understanding the customer’s expectations came together perfectly. With a few small parts replaced and some labor, everything was fixed. Big thanks to Minute Muffler Frido!
Went in today for an alignment around 10:30 from Scarborough. I asked how long it might take and the girl at the front desk said couple hours at least. So i came back around 12:20 and they said they’re still waiting on a specific lift because my cars lowered so they told me again it might take couple more hours. So around 2 they called me and tells me that my cars too low and they cant get it up on the lift. Mind you my friends are the ones who referred me this place because they got their cars alignment done here with having lower cars than me. They saw my car before that it was lowered but still waited 4 hours for them to tell me they cant get it on the lift and the guy on the phone was very rude and not professional at all. Very disappointed, I didn’t argue with them just took my keys and left. As soon as I drove off the lot there was rattling and clanking noises coming from my front suspensions, dont know what they did but I would not recommend going to this shop because its terrible customer service. Wasted 4 hours plus traffic and messed up suspension. Here are the pictures attached below of them having my car up on a lift and then taking it off after a while. And in the video you can hear them talking about about my car saying it looks stupid and using bad slurs. Went in for a small thing came out with bigger problems
Called this morning because my muffler was about to fall off my car.. took it in, and 30 minutes later we were on our way and the cars silent! They took the time to show us what was going on, what work needed to be done and were priced really really fairly. Highly recommend giving them a visit!
Diagnosed a simple problem in my car, had a good idea of what it cost. Got one quote that was outrageously expensive....made me second guess myself Took it to this shop and they confirmed I was correct and charged me a fair price for the work needing to be done. I'll definitely come back.
Car repair service is often one of the more stressful types of services because it's hard to judge whether what the mechanic is telling me is accurate. The guys at Minute Muffler were super friendly and courteous and took the time to explain exactly what was wrong. What's more, they gave me many options in terms of what, how and when to fix the problems. They were happy to discuss things with me which is why this is now my favourite mechanic. Prices were extremely fair. Could not recommend more highly.
