Terrible experience at this club as the parent of a junior player who was supposed to play InterCounty as guest at York Weston. No clear communication was given that they didn't have enough players (ie default) until we drove 45 minutes there. The remaining players were offered 2 courts to play "exhibition match", only one was available. Half an hour later, after being asked, the president promised another court would be ready in half an hour then he left. When half an hour was up, the loud players on the 2nd court and their spectator friends wouldn't give up the court. So we went all the way there hoping for some well organized fun matches ended up wasting 3 hours with no tennis. Overall when we were there, nobody seemed to care about how the guest team were received & the club players we ran into were far from being respectful, setting really poor example for the junior players at the scene.
As a newer member of the York Weston Tennis Club, I felt very welcomed. Well maintained club with good court availability. Tennis programs for all levels.
I've been a member here for several years and the cheap politics that the club's president constantly endows upon the club's itineraries and facilities is a constant impediment to reasonable progress. Look elsewhere for enjoyment.
A friendly, community-oriented club with very reasonable membership rates, particularly for children/students. An excellent club pro in Sulley who runs an equally good summer tennis camp for kids. The club hosts BBQs and potluck dinners throughout the playing season so there are lots of opportunities to socialize and meet fellow members. Courts are free (open to the public) on Fridays but only from 4pm to 8pm. Best of all, there's plenty of free parking, you get to enjoy a fantastic view of the Humber River and it's usually very easy to get court time unlike many other downtown clubs which require booking days in advance.
