Honestly, at this point the government might as well just take their funding back, because whatever NYWC is doing now is NOT it. This place used to actually support women in the neighbourhood, now they can’t even pick up their phones?? Where’s all this money going then??
What has happened to NYWC??? It used to be a great place but not anymore. They do whatever they want without talking to us and they don't work with LEF and the food bank anymore. All the good program leaders quit. If you want to talk to someone you have to leave a message and wait for them to call you back. Too bad if you live with someone violent. Now they want to move to where rich people live even though this neighbourhood has the highest domestic violence problems in Toronto. The government should take the money and give it to a place that cares about this neighbourhood.
The program was very helpful. The facilitators are so professional and knowledgeable about different topics discussed in every session. It is awesome program if you are looking to empower yourself. Highly recommended.
