Great selection of hot sandwiches, however not the greatest service ever. Especially from the older, short blonde lady doing sandwiches. She rolled her eyes because I asked for bacon well done, and can't even make eye contact to say thank you while basically throwing your sandwich in front of your face. This was on December 18 at 12:30pm. It's fine if you don't speak English as I feel many of the workers don't, however, you should know the first things about customer service. I've never received over the top friendly service here so I only come once in a while.
The sandwich was really nice, fresh, flavorful, and satisfying and for just ten bucks, it honestly doesn’t get much better than that. The coffee was great as well something I’d come back for. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the almond tart; the egg flavor was a bit too noticeable for my taste. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, making the visit feel welcoming and well taken care of. Overall, a solid spot with good food, great service, and excellent value.
First time being here on my lunch break and their bread is absolutely phenomenal. I've never had a simple sandwich hit the spot so much. Amazing service definitely coming
Nova Era Bakery & Pastry is a gem for anyone craving authentic Portuguese pastries and a cozy European-style café experience. The bakery offers a wide variety of fresh and delicious treats, including the famous Portuguese custard tarts, or pastéis de nata, which have the perfect balance of crisp, flaky crust and creamy custard filling. In addition to the pastéis de nata, they have a great selection of other traditional pastries like pão de Deus (sweet bread with coconut topping), queijadas (small custard cakes), and assorted croissants and buns. Their bread, especially the pão de milho (cornbread), is always fresh and has a wonderful homemade taste. Nova Era’s coffee is rich and pairs well with any of their pastries. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it a nice spot for a quiet breakfast, a coffee break, or even a light lunch. The staff is friendly and efficient, providing great service even during busy times. Overall, Nova Era Bakery & Pastry is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the comforting and nostalgic flavors of Portugal right in Toronto. With high-quality products and a welcoming vibe, it's easy to see why this bakery has such a loyal following.
The ambience of this place is amazing. The best part is that they didn’t cut the tree because they had to build a cafe. The food is amazing. They have wide range of bread, pastries, cakes and drinks. Must visit place. The people are kind too.
I only order Nutella Natas whenever I'm at Nova Era. I've tried 3 locations so far and this location has the freshest Natas. Approx $13/6. For those reason, it's a 5/5. Lady at the counter was very friendly. Decor feels outdated, overall clean. Could use brighter lighting.
This Nova is amazing! They have plenty of seating and lots of sweet treat options, fancy cakes, and bread. Everything is always fresh and delicious. Parking can be a challenge in the area, but it’s worth it.
